TourLinks Review. The TourLinks Review: the 4x10 indoor putting green. I love golf. When you love golf, as you no doubt do or you wouldn't be reading this review, you can't wait to try out every gadget, golf ball or golf club you can get your hands on that may remotely have a chance at lowering your score. Over the last week, I have had the opportunity to get my hands on an indoor putting green that I believe will do just that... lower your scores. Pretty bold statement...let's see why I believe so strongly that it can lower your scores. When the TourLinks 4 x 10 putting green was delivered, it arrived in 2 boxes (with another box inside one of the boxes...
for a total of 3). The boxes were not very heavy, so I feel pretty safe in saying that you won't have concern
with getting the boxes in your home or office. Most of the boxes are consumed with the TourLinks panels that make up the base or foundation of the putting green. I was impressed with the construction, but moreso with the sturdiness of the manufacturing. Very solid and meant to be stood on...no sideboard on this green...you walk the green just like at the course. I like that...gives you the feel that you can address the ball the way you were meant to all along. Now, the TourLinks instructions say you can put this together in 15 minutes. I'm not sure about 15 minutes. I suppose if you knew exactly what you were doing when you started it would take 15 minutes, but I feel safe in saying that this is a project that you should have completed within 30 minutes. The panel system has to be pulled together (kind of like a jig saw puzzle) and then screws must be used to hold the panels in place. I puposely used an old fashion screwdriver, instead of an electric screwdriver, just so I could be accurate in the process for those of you who don't use an electric screwdriver. Note: To be fair to TourLinks, if I had used an electric screwdriver...it would have taken less time. I certainly don't find an extra 10 or 15 minutes to be a problem at all. Hey, I have 2 small children...with the toys I put together for them...30 minutes is a dream! Once the panels are in place, you can place the cups in the holes. These are "floating cups," meaning they move with the green... that means that you have the cup where it should be regardless of how much movement you have on the green. It is nice to have and I was impressed with how it worked. The good news is that once the panel system is in place, you just lay down the turf (in this case, I was given the club turf for review) and away you go. The synthetic turf comes to you with the holes pre-cut, so it really is as easy as laying it down and grabbing your putter. This 4 x 10 putting green from TourLinks came with some extras I really think are nice touches. The first is a combo...a retriever base, retriever shaft and retriever head. This combo comes together to give your putting green a country club look...you simply pull the retriever head up to you and the golf ball comes up with the retriever base...you never even have to bend down to get your golf ball! The combo looks great on the green and it is that touch you need to provide some needed class and comfort. The second extra is the contour pads. These pads are placed by you, securely, under the turf...and they allow you to create some breaks on the surface. This is very important. How many straight 6 or 8 footers do you EVER get a look at? Not many? Me either. I didn't mention everything in the instruction manual, but I have given you the important points that I believe are needed for the review. I like this indoor putting green. I really like that it is meant for me to walk around on (not to the side of). I like that it is 10 feet long so that I can practice putts from the distance that we always need to practice from...and I love that it actually has a classy look and makes we want to practice. I believe this indoor putting green retails in the $700 range, which is pricier than some on the market... Too much for an indoor putting green you say? Really? Now, how much was that new driver you just bought? Drive for show and putt for dough...I recommend this indoor green. Putting Green Reviews
