Need a pro for your putting green installation?
Installing or building your own home putting green is not a task for everyone. Is it a do-able, "do-it-yourself" project? Yes, but don't go into a labor-intensive project like installing your own synthetic turf without getting a good idea of what is involved in the process!
Take a look at Residential Putting Green Magazine's
Build Your Own Home Putting Green! Guide
and see if this is something you really are excited about and capable of doing yourself. Again, installing your own outdoor putting green is not for everyone.
If you decide that it is not for you or you would just rather have a pro do the job for you, then you need to do your due-diligence.
RPGM covers what you need to know, so you're in the right place...but before you decide to take on a project to build your own home putting green, we do recommend that you call a professional installation company (or 3, 4 or 5) and have them come walk your backyard and give you an estimate for the project.
Remember, they do this for a living and might just give you some great ideas, and point out some potential concerns, that you never considered.
Tip: Always ask to "touch & feel" turf samples and, if at all possible, go check out one or more of their personal installations.
You wouldn't buy a new car without taking it out for a test drive...would you?
A true professional will have no problem showing you examples of his or her completed projects!
